What could cause thoracic spine degeneration?

I had some x-rays done because my back has been getting worse in the past 5 years or so.It started ten years ago and now to the point of constant severe pain all on the time,and feeling uncordinated.The term used by the x-ray tech is as follows.Degenerative changes throughout the entire visualized thoracic spine.My doctor is out of town so i cant ask him untill later,but i wanted to ask here so that i can know what questions to ask later.

Without knowing your age or any medical history...could be just normal x-ray, could be posture related changes...either way nothing in that statement is concerning.  I wouldn't worry.
