"A 14-year-old Dalit boy, born and brought up in a remote village of western Uttar Pradesh, has suddenly turned angrez . Rajesh, without any evident help, has started speaking fluently in English and does so with a proper American drawl. And that’s not all: He seems to have forgotten how to speak Hindi.

Wonders do not cease with this: His knowledge of physics and mathematics has left engineering students baffled. Having already penned three books, Rajesh is now looking forward to some research work. "I did not take him seriously for a few months but on Republic Day, while the students were reciting poetry before the entire college, Rajesh took the mike and addressed the gathering in fluent English. This left us almost shell-shocked," says Shishu Pal. Rajesh’s mother Omkali and 16-year-old brother Kaluwa are daily wage labourers who earn just enough to manage two square meals a day. His father Sompal is mentally-challenged." Times of India

WOW: What theory could explain this?!

  1. If such a thing did happen; which I find unlikely...if he ever had a past life where he spoke English and he somehow tapped into that memory then he might have the ability...but to not remember the Hindi seems odd to me.

  2. 1. This could be a 'possession', the soul of this 'angrez', has possessed the body of this boy...while the boy's soul is still there, this is said to be possible if the 'angrez' and 'boy' knew each other in  a previous life, and that the 'boy' owed the 'angrez' a debt karmically, so the 'angrez' man can possess his body, do to this debt.

    2. The boy, could have died, his soul left his body, and a soul that is wandering the Earth, could have possessed his body...i don't know if that is a good thing..time will tell.

    3. The story is a hoax

    4. possession by a demon

    5. It has happened many times in documented cases....I personally have observed a 16 y.o. uneducated boy that spoke only hindi...suddenly start speaking in fluent arabic, sanskrit, punjabi, and hebrew.  That is a long story...but personally observed by me...so it is possible, according to me.

  3. This is just another example of a credulous journalist reporting on an item and exercising absolutely no scientific or intellectual rigor.  This is always going on in the US, especially around Halloween.

  4. We are spirits in a Material world.   Most of us forget the oneness of being when we come down here but occasionally it serves the Holy Spirit to remind us miracles and wonders happen and creation is an awesome gift.

  5. I think that happens a lot over there, they do it to get jobs as telemarketers. They say 70% of telemarketers call people from India.

  6. Where's the link? I entered a search and found: Nothing. Tabloid journalism sounds more like it. Are you sure it wasn't the Enquirer?

  7. An urban legend.

Speaking in English means you have to have learned English.  It cannot just come to you.

It is possible take a bump on the head and be unable to speak one language that you know, but it is NOT possible to suddenly be able to speak a language you never learned.

  8. The Times of India is a reasonably respectable paper, but this story just reeks of fakery. The reporter is reporting this second hand -- he never claims to have seen or heard the boy. The history and education of the boy is not mentioned. Perhaps he secretly listens to the English radio or sneaks off to watch English movies. No one has tested the boy's knowledge of physics and mathematics.

Every one of these types of cases that has been carefully investigated falls apart.

  9. Darwin's theory of evolution. It's seems that there was a natural selection of people full of BS. Those with more BS were able to survive while those without it had to work to survive.

Eventually, the BS gene became more predominant in the gene pool.

That's why we have so many people on politics, government bureaucracy, intelligence, marketing and management.

I'm still waiting for the new Buda to wake up... I mean, came back to the tree and wake up. Is he still on the loose?
