  1. Probably nothing but it depends on the weather and water conditions.  A boat anchored from the bow with an anchor that digs into the bottom will ride over incoming seas more readily than one anchored from the stern simply because the bow usually has higher free-board.

If you are talking about a sea anchor then anchoring from the stern is the only sensible thing to do since this positions the bow into the oncoming seas.

  2. the bow will slip aroud everywhere

  3. You usually anchor from the front so the front will point into the wind and on coming waves.  You sometimes will throw a second anchor off the back to maintain a position better.  If there's no wind or waves, you can anchor off the back.  You don't want waves slamming into your transom though.  Try it out and you'll quickly realize why.

  4. Currents and tide will pull harder because the stern offers more resistance to the water.

Where, if anchored from the bow, the prow slices through the current easier, the current dragging on the stern may cause the anchor to come loose from the bottom more readilly.

Still, the current would have to be pretty extreme to do this.
