Question:

What could have started the Big Bang, if it indeed happened?

According to many physicist, energy is transferred from one form to another, and that through the Law of Conservation, that energy will remain constant for every reaction occurring in our Universe.

What energy/force could have forced the Cosmic Egg to explode, if that Cosmic Egg had existed alone, and what change in energy could've sparked the explosion, if there was no energy to have been added or removed?

  1. The "Big Bang" created space and time.  It does not "make sense" to ponder any conservation laws before or at t=0.  There is no theory extant.

I'm sure you will get some "jaw boning" but it is nothing that will be supported by any physical model.

  2. where did the cosmic egg come from?  it makes more sense and is easier to believe in intelligent design rather than "magic"

  3. That is indeed the greatest mystery out there yet few even think about it. One thing is almost certain, no "god" was involved.

  4. There is a convergence of evidence to support that the universe is expanding now, that in the past it was dense and hot enough to contain a fairly uniform plasma.  Einstein's theory of gravity allows for the expansion of space itself, which offers further support for this idea.

These are some of the key elements of the big bang.

What started the big bang is an open question, what is known as an "outstanding problem".

Some people say "Aha! You don't know everything, so you don't know anything".  That sort of black and white thinking is just odd.

Some people say "Aha! I know how it happened: God!"

Well if that sort of explanation explanation lead to anything, say an formula that gave the ratio of matter to antimatter, a physical theory that explained dark matter or addressed anything physical, then that would be fine.

But it is hard for me to see how a "God did it." explanation leads to any sort of physical theory.  Short of that, it doesn't qualify as a scientific idea at all.

  5. it was when god was creating the world. it made a lotta noise.
