  1. No defiantly not, they'll claw straight through it. You could just use some strong bark from a tree or i suppose you could just use buy some more bamboo

  2. Never cover a rats cage because they have ammonia in their urine and if you cover the cage completely the ammonia in their urine will get stronger and will cause respatory problem if they are kept covered which can kill them if left untreated.

  3. If you do use a towel, be ready to replace it about once a month, since it'll get dirtied from pee and other stuff that goes right past your bedding.

  4. plastic

  5. use an old towel or newspaper their claws will just go through the t - shirt

  6. what ever you use remeber rats like to chew mine actually pulled my curtains threw their bars and chewed them...i would try some type of plastic or plexi glass they sell it in sheets at home depot and in dif sizes from the size of a piece of paper to bigger than poster boards they also sell a special tool to cut the plexi glass and it would be easy to clean hope that helped.....it is also pretty inexpensive..

  7. maybe an old towel. the t shirt may sink through the small holes, but a towel is a little thicker.

  8. i'd suggest some sort of plastic bottom... they could easily chew through material. and plus i agree that rats are the best pets!
