What could i say to explain to a teacher why i would be a good asset to join into Student Goverment???

  1. I am assuming that the teacher to whom you are referring runs, or has a big part in, Student Government.  Speaking as a teacher myself, this is what I would like to hear (and it had better be honest).

    [Speaking as the student:]

    I realize that student government has many responsibilities.  I also realize  that since students don't get a grade for this that it might be hard to keep them motivated.  Let me assure you that I am ready for the extra responsibility. I have looked at my schedule and will be available to work when needed.  I will not "slack off" and leave you stranded.   I'm committed to making this next school year fun and memorable.  I'm committed to helping you.  I love my school and would like to hone my leadership skills.  Thank you for giving me that opportunity.
