Question:

What could my "lactating" dream mean?

I dreamt last night that I was suddenly lactating. However, there was no baby! It's very weird, but in the dream I just grabbed my right breast (which felt very full) and emptied/squeezed all the breastmilk into a little trashcan! This is so disturbing to me!

A little info about me. I am a 27 year-old female with no children. I do want to get married & have children very badly someday, though!

Does anyone have any insight to the possible meaning of this dream?

  1. Easy.  You have so much love to give, and emotionally, you are ready to give it now, but no baby to care for.  The milk is your love and maternal instinct.  You see it going to "waste" and it makes you sad.

Pray for wisdom.  Consider sharing some of that love with children in need, perhaps by volunteering at a children's hospital or nursery.  Maybe look into the "Big Brother/Big Sister" organization.  Don't let that love and maternal instinct be wasted.  Give it now, while prayerfully waiting for the man God has for you.  You might even meet him, out there somewhere volunteering his time and energy to bless some children as well.  That's the best kind of place to meet a person with some real heart.

    God bless you!

  2. Gosh, you're getting the cart before the horse! Apprehension probably is causing you to be cautious in your daily routines. How do you feel that you desire to be a parent, not only this to be a big step but you can't miss something if you've never had it! Although to not discourage your "wish" at the age of twenty-seven puts you in a popular area for parenthood. You ought to see a medical Dr. so to rule out all other causes. Yes, and once in a while dreams just don't give away their answers very quickly and we have to search in areas not frequented.

  3. Is there a situation or relationship that you may unwillingly feel that you are being milked for what you're worth? Or could you unconciously be milking a situation or relationship?

Or: You could be having a spurt of creativity that you are ignoring/neglecting. Like not writing a story because you probably won't get money for it. If the story is in you, you should set it free for the sake of mental and/or emotional health, not just trash your inspiration because it doesn't gain you anything.

  4. The breast usually expresses sexual desires, but also need for love, safety and security.

Symbolizes tenderness, love, nurture, and motherly love. Perhaps there is still a need for required loved that has been missed in your life.

Lactation is an interesting dream symbol since it is uniquely women who participate in this activity in waking. Dreams about lactation may reflect archetypal gender identity concerns. A woman who dreams of this may see herself as fulfilling a mothering role. This may be literal or figurative, as in mothering a man in a romantic relationship.

To dream that you are squeezing something, suggests that you need to make more space for other things. You need to stop dwelling on your past emotions and clear them away. Alternatively, it may mean that you are putting the "squeeze' on somebody. You or someone may be feeling pressured or stressed. The dream may also be a pun on your "main squeeze" or your mate. What is your dream trying to tell you about the relationship.

Dreaming about milk is a message that you need to nurture some new aspects of your personality which you have just discovered.

''I do want to get married & have children very badly someday''

breast (which felt very full) you said, could mean ur desire to want something (married & children)

''emptied/squeezed all the breastmilk into a little trashcan!''

Its something you want but yet your not doing anything about it (like allowing a relationship in ur life??) To want something you have to go out and get it..It takes actions to make a move..goodluck!
