What could this odd sign on a house we are looking to buy be about?

My fiancee and I are looking at several houses to buy in my area and tonight we happened to notice a sign that is on the front door of a house that says something to the effect of "Please call this # before anyone occupies this residence". Any idea what the heck that could be about?

sounds as if someone is not pleased with the house being bought.  might be trouble.  call and find out.

You are a smart cookie. It would be an excellent idea to telephone and be 'anybody, but you.' You can't be seen through a telephone. As far as someone being busy and will call you back, you don't have a phone. Make the person on the other side of the line, tell you what it is, that is the problem. I believe that 'forewarned is forearmed' and that anyone would be lucky, to get this information ahead of time. No one has endless monies to spend on 'white elephants' and 'unknown situations.' Deem yourself very lucky to find out all that you can, BEFORE you move into a HEADACHE!!! What shall we then say to these things? If GOD be for us, WHO can be against us? - Romans 8:31. Probaly the orginal owners of the house or one of the neighbors in the area may have some dirt or info on the house in question..
