I would like to inform everyone that I am going to the doctor tomorrow morning to explain my situation.

For the past week and a half every time I eat I get the severe, stabbing pain in my upper abdomen and also in my upper back, on the sides. I am extremely bloated and need to belch often to reduce the pressure but it does not help.

I use to have this pain every couple of months when I was dieting and stopped because I thought my diet was the reason for the pain. I went to my doctor and had a Upper GI X-Ray done and he said everything was fine and gave me heartburn medication, this was about a year and a half ago.

Now I take prilosec for my heartburn, which I have everyday no matter what I eat. It helps, but the directions say to not take it for more then 14 days every three months, however, once I stop the 14 day treatment I get heartburn again the next day.

Anyways, this pain that I get after every mean, it doesn't matter what I eat. It is extremely painful and lasts for hours, causing me to miss work and lose sleep.

Has anyone experience something like what I am and what was your doctors diagnosis?

  1. It sounds like you may have a gall bladder issue (worse case scenerio) or really bad gas, especially if you're dieting and not eating properly.  Gas pain travels from one place to another in the body and is very, very painful.

Hope you are checked out and all is fine tomorrow at the Doctor's.
