What could this seriously crazy dream mean, if anything?

my dreams were jumbled last night. but the bit i remember was this:

for some reason i'm in the sea, nowhere near the shore, and my dad is there, and i think someone else too, and my dad's telling me that i have to sit on top of this yellow rectangular floating 'buoy' even though i'm perfectly safe, and the rest of my family (who've appeared) just swim off. then i look round and there's some of my friends (we're not THAT close, but we're still friends), and they're also sat on these weird buoys. we've all been told we have to, for some reason.

then, i'm suddenly on this weird platform by this wall, in the sea, and the sky's suddenly gone really dark and stormy, and there's this thing, like a blimp, spiralling down between the clouds, on fire, smoking. then (i don't remember it crashing) i look across the sea and there's this island with tall buildings on it and suddenly behind one of the buildings a GIANT plastic bottle floats up on a string like a balloon, fixed to the ground.

???

  1. sounds like you  feel alone...and you have no one to be there for you..

  2. I notice your Dad tells you to stay on the buoy, even though you feel perfectly safe.  Sometimes, parents and other people in authority don't seem to be making sense with their rules and guidelines, but it is because, due to the fact they have more experience, they can anticipate danger coming from places and things we'd never even think about.    So, an older person, just watching the trends in our culture and on the world scene, or even the interactions in our relationships with our peers, might see trouble coming from where we'd least expect it.  It seems this was the case in  your dream.

The stormy atnosphere that appears and the blimp, and the giant plastic bottle are kind of confusing, but they do appear to be warnings of hard times or crisis.  A blimp is usually a "messenger" flying in the sky with some type of message written on it.  Also, you can get a "message in a bottle" or even send messages tied to helium balloons.  Sometimes, with enough experience, you can read the "messages" being sent by other nations, or in cultural trends, or even in dreams.

I do not know that this dream is saying that catastrophe is pending, but I do believe it may be a message for you to respect the guidelines and boundaries your parents give you, because they may be reading the "signs of the times" and the cultural headlines with clearer eyes than you are.  Also, they are far more likely than you to see pitfalls in your personal habits, attachments and relationships.  Don't blow them off, ok?

Pray for wisdom, and honor your parents.

    God bless you,

    Fairelight

  3. maybe it means that your family is there for you no matter what - maybe your dad gives good advice and maybe if things for you take a turn for the worse and you are separated from your loved ones you will pull through because you are nice enough to get along with people you dont know that well =)

    + i think its a reasurring dream

  4. that is freakyest dream i ever heard but it could meen your going somewere with the friends in your dream like a vacation and your not going with you parents

  5. I don't believe much in dream meaning. That sure is funny though!

  6. When we're asleep the brain is still active, filing stuff away and trying to make sense of the life we're having at the moment. But our dreams are frequently interpreted for us visually using symbols.  So, thinking symbolically, your life may be adrift at the moment - maybe you don't quite know where you are heading. Your father is there as a guide and a rock - someone you know (or your brain is telling you) you can rely on.  The island with buildings could be Manhattan (we're talking symbols here), the 'thing' coming down out of the sky on fire could be a symbolic recreation of 9/11 - so you are 'seeing' a symbolic disaster looming in your life - but the plastic bottle suggests that you can rise above the 'danger.'

What I've said is a kind of rationalisation/interpretation - but I'm no dream reader - just an ordinary guy who could be your grandfather. Remember, you are probably not seeing things that are going to happen. So you are not going to experience a second 9/11 and find yourself adrift on a yellow float. These are not 'real' events. The brain can imagine creatively all sorts of things, take you to places that seem real yet where you've never been and maybe exist nowhere.

I tell you - when I get dreams like that, I like to take charge - I like to make the dream do what I want to do. And I enjoy them as a creative experience. It's like I'm inside my own film or novel, and I'm running the camera or writing the story.

Best 'dream' I ever had was flying like a bird, with the English countryside, farms, roads, barns, animals, cars and people all spread out below me. Unbelievable.
