What could unify the human race?

Question

Maybe humans are predisposed to destroy one another but in certain situations groups do come together. I feel that only if the human race as a whole is threatened with imminent extinction from a force they cannot reason with, would they truly see themselves as one.

I think war and a common enemy but then there are those who use the situation to benefit themselves, profit from other's needs.

I think disaster but even when the planes hit the twin towers there were people selling bottled water to fire-fighters for $5 and after selling rubble on ebay.

I think disease such as HIV but this lead to whole groups of people being shunned and companies capitalising on the situation for profit.

Religion? Well we know that history.

If aliens came down tomorrow then there would be governments brokering deals for power.

I think the threat of an impending doom would unify the people of the world.  A large comet or meteor , 20 miles in diameter, would wipe out all living things on our planet and if we had knowledge of this, at least 2 years in advance, would make us realize we might survive if united.  Lets hope such a catastrophy never happens and we can find other ways to get along.

well really i think humans were meant to hunt each other and kill each other even if we fight aliens tomorrow the day after tomorrow if we survive we will then again kill and hunt each other .

if we ever colonize mars we should do it by nationality or by race. or we can make space colonies and we can finally live in peace separated from each other. i would love to see the human race as one but honestly that won't happen.

if you want to see the human race as one then please do me a favor and kill al sharpton and throw him to the sun and jesse jackson too. if you want to unite get rid of racial subjects and hypocrits who are the real racists.

also education is good too teach and tell the new generation of human beings to look and only judge a person by their intelligence or something that has meaning other then their race or something like that which they can't change.

Love...We do not learn from past mistakes and we are doomed to repeat them until we are just doomes...and we are all being threatned as a planet by the stupidity of actions which has poisioned our air, land and sea and we have not risen as one to tell the corporations that this is the last straw and that we choose to survive rather than let them destroy us with greed...I am not a Christian but the seven deadly sins of which they preach are the downfall of humanity...Wanting to maintain our comfort is going to destroy us as a species...

if people educated themselves about religion, history etc then there would be less disputes about who's right and who's wrong and more people respecting each others beliefs.
