What could we do to reduce the amount of pollution and waste used in the world?

    2. if you don't live in a city start a garden.  Everything we eat comes from somewhere else.

    3. suck it up.  I mean wear a sweater when it's cold, dress light when its hot so you can lay off the heat and AC

    4. Buy products that that have a minimum amount of packaging  or buy in bulk.

    5. (even bush is doing it) check out a small wind turbine for your house.

    6. eat less, you'll feel better, save money, and use less.


  2. Stop buying Chinese products, they are already a leading polluter and the more we buy the more they make and soon enough they will be completely industrialized with millions of people creating waste like us Americans.

  3. If you're still in school start are recycling project there. If not recycle on your own. Car pool. Turn the water off while brushing your tooth and you visit one the of million website out there gear toward saving the planet to find other helpful tips.

  4. Step one: (i would say turn off your computer...but then you wouldn't be able to finish reading my post :))

    Walk or bike instead of driving

    Step two: Start minimizing the things you buy to basics and necessities. Try setting goals for how much junk you can let into your life. If you have children, try giving them environmentally friendly toys instead of landfillers such as legos or whatever those toymakers come up with.

    Plus, there's less danger because ...there's lead in everything now isn't there?

    Step three: refit your home

    bathroom: a toilet and a shower that uses less water but has the same pressure (so it seems the same)

    solar power? if you can afford it :)

    Step four: tell your friends

    Step five: bring eco friendly reusable bags to shopping

    this INCLUDES, but is not limited to:

    grocery

    mall <--dude who cares if it's embarrasing? you're doing good for the environment

    etc etc

    Step six: research online or at your library :) after all, you can improve your lifestyle many many different ways and i'm only one person :)

    Step seven: commit to change! if you don't commit, what's the use?

    Step eight: recycle!!!! plastics, paper,

    and compost overdue food and fruit skin peelings and whatever else is compostable

    Step nine: regift stuff that you don't like

    hey, it saves money too!

    Step ten: buy at recycled/thrift stores

    one last step: try to stay away from electronics as much as possible

    they are bad for you...

    you should go outdoors more :) hiking, park, etc

  5. We could force Al Gore to only use as much energy per year as an average family.   That would be a great start.

  6. gee, we could all speak english, read english, instead of printing instructions in a whole lot of languages....save a lot of paper and ink....less packaging, more common sense...make packaging more valuable and then the waste might be less....you answered your own question....conserve more, recycle more....soylent al gore for a start....gee, how about population reduction....through attrition naturally, instead of procreating like rabbits like some people have a tendency to do....you know, the guy that has 14 kids by 12 different women, and the woman that has 7 kids by 6 different men??? happens all the time.......won't  see that truth on the news though...or statistic published in any newspaper..

    I mow the lawn with my horse

    I only eat plants and animals that died of natural causes.

    Never cook I eat food raw or warmed in sun.

    I drive a donkey cart to store

    Wash clothes in creek by hand

    dry them on rocks.

    I only turn electric on for 1 hour a day.

    take bath in creek or shower in rain.

    Remodeling a cave to live in 50 degrees car battery for light.'

    most of our clothes are hand woven out of hemp.

    shoes for kids are made from leather road kill sandals and tires for bottom of shoes.

    repaired old shopping cart for kids to collect empty soda cans.

    Beds are old newspaper & tree Moss with hemp covering. furniture is made from logs and tree stumps.

    Floor carpet is woven out of brightly colored plastic bags woven in circle.

    3. Don't buy CFC(chloro flouro carbon) products

    4. Avoid burning rubbers and forests

    5. Recycle products (like peel of bananas as fertilizers)

    6. Increase the law about smoke velchers and illegal logging( increase the amount like from $10.00 make it $50.00 so that we can be more careful)

    7. Kill animals in moderation so that the balance of ecosystem will be conserved.

    8. Mine the non-renewable resources in limitation because these resources recovers for many years.

  11. Stop drinking out of plastic bottles. Buy some juices that come in single serving resealable glass bottles. Drink them. Wash the bottles and use again. Also encourage all companies that use packaging to use recycled paper packaging instead of plastic.

    2. Buy locally.

    3. Buy fewer disposable things.

    4. Compost all organic waste.

    5. Only buy plastics etc that can be recycled, then recycle.

    5. Insist on better fuel economy for all vehicles, legislated by your applicable government.

    6. Choose the best fuel economy that you have available.

    7. Pay for Renewable Energy, in Australia this is called Green Power and means that you pay more for your power.

    8. Eat less beef, if you like red meat, consider kangaroo, which doesn't emit methane.

    9. Use LPG or natural gas in preference to diesel or petrol.

    10. Buy stuff that will last. ie. quality lounges or wooden bookshelves that can be re-finished rather than disposed of.

    11. Use solar hot water (saves about 4 tonnes CO2 each year - electricity saving)

    12. Grow some of your own food - reduces emissions from transporting and storing your fresh vegies at the supermarket.
