What countries are culturally asian?

Middle-easterns have a distinct culture than the Asians. Does the culture of former soviet union countries and south-asian countries considered Asian?

One cannot tell exactly which is which. Asian countries are diverse and they also have different cultural norms. Middle Eastern cultures are different from South Asians (India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka) and South Asian culture differ from East Asian. Though South Asian cultures has similarities with the Southeast Asian cultures but even among Southeast Asian countries, there are also cultural differences especially with the likes of Vietnam, the Phils & East Timor being distinctly different than the rest of Southeast Asian culture. While other Southeast Asian culture are mostly Malay & Indian influences, Vietnamese culture is more Chinese, East Timor is heavily influenced by the Portuguese while Philippine culture is heavily influenced by Spain, Latin America & the US.
