Well Belize is a country that is actually not an island... It is located a tiny bit south of the Yucatan peninsula... Basically just to the south & east of Mexico....

Belize (Or as it used to be called "British Honduras")  is often considered by us in the region as a part of the British West Indies-family because for example Belize was administered for a while by the British from the island of Jamaica... In addition to them sharing many ties to the islands nearby....

Belize's culture is also similar to the other British colonial islands across the Caribbean Sea it is also the only country in Central America who's official language is English.

Also, as far as I've read Belize has the second ***longest*** barrier reefs in the world.  Which some people I think keep mis quoting and calling it the second **largest** barrier reef in the world, those are two entirely different things....

The Cayman Islands are an overseas territory of the United Kingdom still.  They are just to the east of Belize...Just to the north of Jamaica and to the south of the western most portions of Cuba.

Roatán is a Caribbean island controlled by Honduras.it is located to the north of the main part of Honduras. Sort of to the east of Belize.  It is a long island.
