England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland; these are the 4 nations of Great Britain, with the Republic of Ireland.The Triple Crown is part of the Six Nations Championship which is also with France and Italy, although it is only one of the "home" nations who gets the Triple Crown.

If any one team manages to win all their games against the other three "home" nations, then they win the Triple Crown.

The 6 Nations Championship also involves France and Italy, but they do not take part in the Triple Crown. A team that beats all five other teams in the 6 Nations is said to have won the Grand Slam.

The team that finishes bottom gets the  "wooden spoon", if they lose every game then they are said to have been "whitewashed".

England, Ireland, Scotland & Wales are the only ones who play for the triple crown. this stems back from the old clubs playing each other before the french were invited to make it the 5 nations cup then italy were invited in.I have heard that spain are wanting to get in aswell to make 7 nations. No matter how many try to get into the game none can go for the origanol shield that used to be played for, the winner over the other three U.K. teams is the holder of the triple crown this year looks like Wales are going to take both triple crown and 6 nations cup.

surely if it`s TRIPLE CROWN there would be THREE teams , not , England,Wales ,Scotland and Ireland,

If you mean Tri Nations , the  Countries are... Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
