What countries still have absolute monarchies? Not like Britain, but countries where the kings and queens have full power. A list or anything is fine.

Thanks

  1. Among the states that retain an absolute monarchy are Bahrain, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Malaysia (?), Morocco, Nepal (?), Saudi Arabia, Swaziland, Thailand, Tonga, the UAE, and the Vatican State.

  2. Mostly Arab states.

  3. Funny thing about Britain - it does have the parliament BUT:

The monarch still has the right to return laws to parliament without reason and still has the right to dissolve the parliament. The chances of that happening are small but it's still possible. Britain doesn't have a constitution so there's nothing to prevent the monarch to do whatever they like...

Prime minister must walk backwards when leaving the monarch's quarters....

  4. that little one next to france. Monoco?

  5. Brunei, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Vatican City. Other countries have monarchies, but they are not absolute.

  6. Thailand, Bhutan, Qatar, Oman, and tiny Swaziland. Not exactly the global powers. But Saudi Arabia and Jordan do still have very strong monarchies, both of which are quite influential in global affairs.

There are also nations like Liechtenstein and the United Arab Emirates which give control not to monarchs but to lesser princes. In this case, a sense of royalty is still upheld.

  7. many countries in Africa do...
