  1. no it is czechalsavkia or however you spell iit

  2. Yes it is the same thing.

  3. Czechoslovakia no longer exists. It split up at the end of the Cold War. What was Czechoslovakia is now the two neighbouring countries of the Czech Republic and Slovakia. 'Czech' refers to the Czech Republic.

  4. they are the same thing

  5. They are the same thing.

  6. On January 1, 1993, Czechoslovakia peacefully split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

    I'm thinking Czech Republic.

  7. It would appear that the answers above are from the 1980s (!) as Czechoslovakia hasn't existed since 1992 when it split into two countries, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.  Therefore, Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic aren't the same thing.  When someone or something is referred to as being Czech, it means they/it are from the Czech Republic.

  8. in fact reffering of someone as "czech" omits the Moravians and Silesians, who are citizens of the Czech republic, too.

from a broader look, though, Czech abroad means anyone from the Czech republic. in the Czech republic itself, calling someone from eastern part of the territory /where Moravia and Silesia regions are located/ Czech could be understood as derogatory.
