  1. Canada.

We also gave you Ryan Gosling, Rachel McAdams, and the brains behind Saturday Night Live.

    You're welcome :) :)

  2. America.

  3. Canada. The basketball was invented by Dr. James Naismith (1891); the telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell (1875); the zipper by Gideon Sundback (1914).

EDIT: You Americans obviously didn't do your research. Why would you automatically assume that Americans invented all these things?

EDIT 2: Earlier versions of the zipper were invented by Americans, but the form closest to the modern zipper was invented by Sundback.

  4. The United States of America.

  5. Well, James Naismith might have been born in Canada.  But the sport of basketball was created while he was working at a YMCA in Massachusetts.

The zipper was "invented" by Gideon Sundback, who was actually Swedish.  And the true origination of the zipper was patented in 1851 by an American named Elias Howe.

And the telephone was invented by an Italian named Antonio Meucci.  He had patented it in 1857.  But in 1874 he had to pay a $10 fee to renew his caveat of invention.  He didn't have the money.  Alexander Graham Bell would have never been issued the patent if Meucci had simply paid the $10.  In 2002 the United States Congress official recognized Meucci as the true inventor of the telephone.

    So your answer is

Basketball: A Canadian who was asked to create a new game while working in the United States

Zipper:  A Swedish guy based on a patent created by an American.

    Telephone: An Italian.

So if you want to know the "country" that invented these items, you either have to go with the inventors home country or the country he lived in when he invented it.  Home country, all you get is basketball.  Country where it was invented, you sort of get the zipper.  Sort of.

Maybe you Canadians should do your research.
