This is to settle an argument with a friend. We are going to New York in October and then up to Toronto but staying 3 nights at Niagra. We therefore need to know what currency to use in Niagra. Is it in Canada or USA?

  1. Well, Niagara is on Canada and the U.S.side.

The U.S. has more water, but on the Canada side, you have a better view. You can use U.S. money here in America, and in Canada. They dont really care. Especially Toronto since there are so many U.S. citizens coming to Canada to see Niagara falls from a different point of view.

  2. It's "Niagara". It's in both countries but the view you know from pictures is on the Canadian side, and I don't think there's a country on Earth that would refuse US dollars, it's just a case of what rate they wll give you.

  3. Its in both countries.

They'll take either currency there becuase its so close to the States. But the states wont take canadian currency.

  4. Lol I thought Yo meant Nigeria.

    but same as above.

  5. The US-Canada border runs directly through the Niagara River -- half of the falls are in the US and half are in Canada.  Most merchants on both sides of the falls will accept both US and Canadian dollars, but you'll probably be better off (with regard to exchange rates) using US dollars on the US side and Canadian dollars on the Canadian side.

  6. It is right on the border, but I think they accept both USA & Canadian dollars.  I would have to say it is judged to be in Canada.  Have a great time.

  7. both

  8. Niagara is in the US.  Niagara Falls is on both sides of the border and Niagara on the Lake is in Canada.

The view from the Canadian side is awesome.
