  10. Mizzitch  I hate to break it to you , but dublin and the surrounding area is in the republic. Ireland by virtue of its education system, one of the best in the world

  11. Eire, without a doubt.

  12. Why does it have to be "better"? They are just different. They are vastly different countries...how can you really compare? How can one accurately judge unless one has lived in both countries for a time? Media reports are heavily biased and there is no substitute for actual experience. The Irish press has printed quite a few factual errors about what goes on in the US, and the news is not exactly impartial either. Not as bad as FOX, but not impartial or unbiased at all. Realistically, All news has a hometown slant to it. And Ireland is more than the quaint vacation destination some people seem to see it as.

Both have their advantages. The US is much more diverse economically and culturally, with a great tradition of inventiveness and openness. I cannot think of another similarly powerful country/empire that has actually tried to help as much as the US has in it's history. It isn't perfect (by a long shot) but it isn't all bad.

I would likely choose Ireland as I have not lived there as yet, and I admire their mobility to make drastic changes in their society/government due to their compact size. Their education system and healthcare are admirable - it would be harder to implement such changes as quickly in a country the size of the US. With such a small population and a relatively underpopulated area, their violence is low as well (although the US really is not as violent as it is depicted) and gun control is important to me. The only downside would be that the economy is highly dependent on the benevolence of other countries/multinationals to base operations there. Ireland also has more cctv in Dublin than I have seen in any city in the US...that is disturbing.

Another bonus of living in Ireland would be the extra holiday time - Americans get much less time off from work than most of Western Europe; we work much longer hours as well. It would be easier to travel as I would have more vacation and it would not be as expensive to fly places.

  13. Ireland. I've lived there all my life, and even though I love to travel, Ireland will always be my home. Its safe, democratic, and has a rich cultural background.

  14. Republic of Ireland.

    Were cool....Nuff said!:P

Well we are a neutral country(apparently), and our education system is one of the best.

  15. Ireland is more democratic, better educated and less radical so I'm going to say Ireland.
