  2. It is China by far. But the USA is supposed to implement more stringent environmental laws to please the clean air act....that is also one of the big reasons Republicans are against the whole thing, because if the IDEA that other superpowers are faigning economic disatvantages by keeping their dollar unrealistically low(china) in order to gain a real world industrial and military advantage on the United States green is great...but freedom is great too. we should keep in mind that hasty requirements put on our industries will not necessarrily make our country safer or stronger...it is important to keep our eyes open to other countries taking harsh advantage of the global climate to gain a long awaited upper hand....we have to be able to compete.

  4. Per capita, or per country? I mean, like it or not there is a difference. Plus, people have made the point that wealthy first world nations are able to export industry to poorer countries, and it's a valid point.

But really, apart from purely academic reasons, finger pointing like this really doesn't serve a purpose. The cold hard truth is that every country needs to improve, whether that means reducing pollution, or enacting more sustainable agricultural practices solely to ensure the ability to feed its inhabitants.

  5. US then China and India

  6. according to "An Inconvinient Truth"by Al Gore both by per capita (per person) and with respect to the population (yes even though china is more populated)U.S.A  is the biggest polluter and if we donot control pollution by 2015 we will no longer be able to save the environment

  7. china,mexico city.

  8. As far as emissions go, the biggest polluter in the world is China, followed by India, followed by the USA.

  9. per capita (per person) USA by far.

ALSO if you count the fact that USA is responsible for the factories in China.. you have added greatly to their responsibility... (Americans buy and demand cheap goods from China- and own many factories there.. thus they are to blame for most of Chinas pollution)

  10. China.  Lots of coal-burning with no scrubbers in the smokestacks and many undeveloped regions where the main sources of fuel are firewood and animal dung.  The old Soviet Bloc countries used to be the worst polluters but have cleaned up significantly since the fall of the communists.

  11. China and India

  12. The US. After that China, but China is a far second. Then I believe it is either India or Russia for third.

  13. I believe that that would be the good old USA.  I have been to many other countries and none of them have the same litter problem we have.
