What country or countries see the sun first?

im just curious to know which country sees the "new day" first. I know its got to be one of the eastern countries because the sun rises in the east obviously. I was thinking australia which is like 16 hours ahead of the US. Does anyone know?

It is Kiribati.  I learned this every New Years Eve when it is reported that they celebrate the New Year first!
