  1. Definitely Riviera Maya/ Playa del Carmen, Mexico. It's a little ares that is about 45 minutes outside of Cancun. It offers something for all ages. Personally, I stayed at the Riu Palace Riviera Maya, and I'd kill to go back. This year we're trying out the Iberostar Del Mar in Riviera Maya. But the Riu is amazing; the staff left chocolate dipped strawberries for my father's birthday, made towel animals, always stocked our refridgerator, provided us with champagne, a cake, and rose petals for the birthday, and the atmosphere/entertainment was amazing. If you go on tripadvisor.com, everyone raves about this resort. And there is lots to do in the area; Chitzinitza, swimming with dolphins, the Xcaret complex, and extreme Mayan snorkeling. There is also an amzing marketplace 5 minutes away from all the resorts. And if you don't want to leave the resort, there is still plenty to do! Def. check into it! BEST OF LUCK! :)

  2. i like st.thomas

  3. Grenada. You can take your children around the isle of Spice so they can see the carnival and all the wonderful markets! It's such a remarkable place to go to, and no i'm not advertising.

  4. We have been to the Caribbean quite a few times and found that an all-inclusive resort or a cruise was the best way to go as a family.

Dominican Republic is a good place for a resort. If you don't want to do a resort, you might consider Cancun or the Bahamas because they are both well-developed, commercialized and have plenty of things to do as a family.

  5. Here's a destination you should consider closely...and I bet no one else suggests it:  Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.  Aguadilla is right at the tip of northwest Puerto Rico.  Uncrowded beaches, great surf (especially winter), great Scuba diving, and some really interesting tropical areas inland that are uncrowded and worth exploring.  Definitely check out Bosque Guajataca (Guajataca Park) which is 5 miles south of Isabela.  Great trails, a decent cave, and weird limestome "karst" formations in deep, tropical woodlands.  Also check out the Rio Tanama which runs underground for 300 feet (you can float through a natural tunnel).  Rio Tanama also has some great trails, caves, and a huge natural arch overhanging the river.  Check out "flickr" and other photo sharing sites for images of this area.  Aguadilla has a fullsized water-park near downtown (admission) and another free municipal water-park/skateboard park (near airport) which is quite good.  Direct flights to Aguadilla from Newark, Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale, and JFK.  No customs or international hassles.  Check it out...I think you'll be pleased.  By the way, if you are a military person, you can rent a full 3 bedroom house for $80 / night at the nearby Coast Guard base.

  6. Antigua during carnival time

  7. I love Antigua! Check out video below, you'd want to come too!
