  1. I saw a Chinese girl that was very good.

  2. In the 2002 World Pool Championships alone, 30 pool players represented Asia from Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, the Philippines and Singapore.

    *Philippines

    *China (Taipei)

    Asia (a continent, not a country) produces the world's best players currently.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~...
    A few notable greats: Chao Fong-Pang, Efren "Bata" Reyes, Francisco "Django"  Bustamante, Yang Ching Shun,Tan Tiong Boon, William Ang Boon Lay, Adrian Tan Beng Huat, and Bernard Tey Choon Kiat.
    The Ladies:
    In June 2008,  Xiao-Ting Pan, went on to win the Generationpool.com Open Ladies Championship, eliminating World Champion Allison Fisher aka:"The Dutchess of Doom", and other notables.
    Ga-Young Kim, took 2ND place, eliminating the tournament's 4-time defending champion: Karen Corr aka: "The Irish Invader", and other notables.
    (I asked my cousin to take a few pics for me, of pool halls in China, on his recent business trip to Hong Kong. He took photos of people playing pool out on the streets, literally! I was amazed at how many people I saw playing pool, and how they used almost anything to prop up the pool tables. It was one of the most amazing sites I have ever seen!)
  3. If you mean billiards as in 3 cushion, most good players are European, but I don't think any one country dominates. Korea also has a few good players though.
    For pool, the Philippines and Taiwan have some of the deepest contingents.
    Moldova
    Equatorial Guinea
    Uruguay
    Uganda
  7. Although it's much less popular now than it was when played by country gentlemen in the 18 and 1900's, the British continue to dominate the sport, having produced over 95% of the all-time World Champions.
    I wonder how long it will be before we're overtaken (as we've been in cricket and soccer), huh?
    India have enjoyed some recent success, with the wonderful Pankaj Advani making great strides in the sport in recent years.
