It depends on what you mean by richest. If you mean the greatest overall Gross National Product, it will almost certainly be China.

If you mean most per-capita GNP it'll probably be some small nation like Macau.

believe it or not, we are right now. look at some of the other countries, you have to get permission from the government to do what you want and people are starving, no homes to live in, look at china right now, we bring food and health supplies in to help them and we are turned away. ill just stay with the good ole usa.

Don't consider tiny countries which are like will' o' the wisp. They have no impact. Even tiny 'Equatorial Guinea' with the fourth highest GDP[$30,000 per capita]straddling equator in Africa is prosperous.
