  1. Yes, to some extent you are right. But if you want to be a forensic anthropologist you need a PhD or at the very least a masters degree. The kinds of courses you should take as an undergrad are biology, human anatomy, physiology, many physical anthro classes, geology, chemistry, statistics, morphology classes, and you might want to take a physics class or two. Granted you don't need to take all these kinds of classes to major in anthropology, but if you want to get into the grad school of your choice you will have to take these kinds of classes. Also, you will need around a 3.5 cumulative GPA and a high score on your Graduate Record Examination (GRE). There are not a ton of jobs in this particular field so you need to stand out and be among the elite. Furthermore, I hope you don't mind working with bad smells and decomposing bodies because you will be elbow deep in them.

  2. I'd recomend LSU over NSU for forensic anthropology. You would work under Prof. Manhein, who runs the FACES lab here. It's awesome.

But most of the stuff is post-grad when it comes to forensic anthropology. You'd basicly be concentrating in physical anthropology with some of the 4000 level forensic ANTH classes as your electives for your BA.
