What covers you with a sudden veil of melancholy?

Thinking of my now passed on Father and the the fact he never got to see his grand sons.

That feeling you cannot deny

& cannot act upon.

When denied it only grows stronger.

When acted upon

it brings about the trouble.

It seems a vicious cycle of melancholy,

never really going away

only lying dormant

beneath the surface

& you want to call it love unrequited

& you want to call it love unattained

but it becomes a melancholic memory

of a love left out in the rain.

& it drenches you with cold shoulders

& makes a pale refrain

circling back to your being

like a gale of pain

as quick as you know the smile.

I wanted to be covered by a leopard coat but hubby said it is too expensive.   So, I put on a veil of melancholy and a veil of nagging and we have troubles here these days....  smrf....

when i realize the obvious: i cannot change events from my past. i must wait until a similar occasion occurs and try to do it right second time around.
