Question:

What craft can I do with a book (possibly controversial)?

I have a bible and a book of mormon with my name on them, and I'm trying to find a crafty use for them. The only thing I've found online is the idea to make a hollow book or use the pages for rolling papers.

I can't just donate it to someplace because my name is on it and the person who gifted it to me wrote a personal message inside both of the books.

I'm hoping there is some crafty thing I can do with both of the books instead of just throwing them away.

  1. No offense, but why don't you keep them as they are? Even if the books are not from your religion, they were a gift.  Keep them somewhere safe and one day you might need them for research or something. Or just as a remembrance of the person who gave them to you.

  2. Turn them into a pair of bookends by casting each of them in a base of "plaster of paris" or colored concrete.  Place a thin sheet of stiff plastic inside each book as a stiffener and secure the top with a decorative cloth, plastic or tape band.
