  1. Lotions, creams and wipes are not necessary for young infants- all they do is coat the delicate skin in chemicals and fragrances, and do more harm than good :)

Water is all you will need- however, if you really do want to use creams etc. definately stick with organic products that are as natural as possible.

    Try Green People products http://www.fill-your-pants.com/section/2...

and go for organic baby wipes http://www.fill-your-pants.com/product/1... which are much kinder to the skin

  2. Johnsons & Johnsons is what my mother used for me as a baby, and that's what I continue to use for my own child as well. Olive oil is a good alternative too.

  3. there are lots of light lotions for babies on the market. Don't over do it - a newborn baby's skin is naturally dry. They've been in a warm, wet environment and now their skin is adjusting to the dry air. I used to rub the baby lotion on my own hands first, but not rub it in all the way - then you get just a light coating on the baby.

  4. baby lotion.... thats what its called........

AND BABY IPES , YOU CAN STILL USE....

  5. Use some light olive oil or baby oil

  6. I use Burt's Bee's "Baby Bee" for my baby. It is almost 100% natural and smells SO good and clean. Specifically I use the babywash, baby lotion, baby powder and balm for his butt if it gets red.  Burt's Bee's has a line that is just as great for mom too. It's worth checking out.  As for baby wipes I use regular Pamper's or Huggies brand. I just get whatever is on sale. I haven't had any problems yet. =) Congrats on your new little one.

  7. my son had dry skin cause he was late and i was told to use grape seed oil it worked wonders.I used Johnson's on my daughter from the off and she has sensitive skin now i never used any shampoo or products on my son till he was 6 weeks and his skin is fine

  8. My bub was born 5 weeks early and I was advised not to use anything on him but water until at least the time he was due.  They have such soft, sensitive skin so it does make sense.  I've been using water and nappy liners as baby wipes for nappy changes and only plain water in his bath (he's not dirty anyway so doesn't need soap) and for when he gets dry skin I use either Apricot or Macadamia oil.  When you read the ingredients of baby products there does seem to be alot of things in them that little bubs probably don't need to be exposed to straight away.

  9. I wouldn't even use lotions or soaps on your baby. The baby washes are great for bathing your baby in. I just put a little in the bath and whisk it with my hand to form bubbles. As for lotions, unless your baby has dry skin they just are not necessary. My daughter had dry skin and some olive oil dabbed on a piece of cotton wool cleared it up within 2 days.

I've heard of not using baby wipes on your baby but to be honest I used them with both of mine, on their faces and bottoms and they have both never had any rashes of any sort. Stick to the ones for sensitive skin and you'll be fine.

  10. I don't bathe my baby too often because they don't really need it. I do, however, use organic baby wipes and Burt's Bees baby wash when she takes a bath. Never had any problems with organic or natural lines. California Baby and Weleda are pretty good too!

  11. use unscented wipes or cotton wool dipped in pre-boiled water.  For the skin use grapeseed oil.  Clean the eyes with cotton wool balls and pre boiled water.  For the bath, get a wash suitable for newborns.

  12. What's wrong with baby wipes?  Doctors will tell you not to use wipes at every diaper change because over-use on wipes can cause  a diaper rash.  Use a cloth with warm water, use johnsons baby lotion and johnsons baby soaps.  There is nothing wrong with those.

  13. Johnsons and Johnsons baby range is very good, they also cater for the sensitive skin as well.

I was given some really good samples when i was pregnant and when i was at the hospital

    good luck
