What credit/debit cards do the conductors take on Southern trains?

probably all, they want the money one way or another and I can't see them being choosy.

Conductors, Revenue Inspectors and Ticket Office can take the following cards.

Normal Debit Cards

Any Visa or Mastercard style Credit Card

American Express

They can not take Solo, Electron or Diners Cards.

All Cards should be Chip and Pin, unless they are Foreign, in which case an extra form of identification may be requested like Passport, Identification Card or Drivers Licence.  Or on some American Express Non Chip and Pin Corporate Cards, however these are now slowly being phased out to pin cards.

Most train companies seem to handle everything except Solo cards and Visa Electron cards.
