I was reading a news article this morning about a couple of Nebraska wrestlers who were kicked from their college team for various offenses, including posing nude for a website. One of them was once convicted for "maintaining a disorderly house" and violating open container laws. What is meant by "maintaining a disorderly house?" Unfortunately that sounds like one law my wife and I might be breaking right now!

  1. campus police probably issued a citation to the person(s) that occupied a residence where underage drinking or loud partying occurred. no that it matters and they can be kicked by the coach or other faculty for violating student codes or student/athelete regulations/responsibilities etc.

  2. Well at least where I come from if the police get called to a residence for varying reasons within a certain time. lets say 3 times in a month. they can cite the residents with keepers of a disorderly house.

This is for the homes that the police are constantly going to for petty reasons but do not have enough on their own to cite them for.

This is just one example of the disorderly house ordinances.

  3. The collage has special rules for there housing, such as an alcohal free dorm. if they continualy broke these rules then the collage would use the umbrella term maintaining a disorderly house.
