What criterium do you use to make a determination that a given stock will "pop"?

I have heard shorting %, unusual volume and options imbalance are among a few. So when shorting volume rises enough, it can bring a stock down pretty far. What else do you use to think about this? I realize that the sector, the market, the world and world currencies, the interest rates....are among some considerations. What else would you suggest?

  1. Just use common sense and look for the right moment. Don't trade jut for the sake of the trade. This is what I am doing and very sucsseful at it.Just see for yourself:

  2. As far as predicting short-term price movement, it's not something that you can do consistently.

But if you want to get that short-term "pop" as you put it, there's only one thing you've got to ask yourself one question:

"Do I feel lucky?"  Well, do you punk?
