  1. VacationsToGo.com is a good place to find bargains.

If you live within driving distance of the pier, you have the advantage of signing up for last minute deals. Cruise lines like to have all the rooms full even if they sell the last few at cost.

Definitely go on a cruise. You won't regret it and most likely will want to do it more often.

  2. I would say CARNIVAL because it's a nice clean ship that has everything you can imagine!!

  3. carnival. "best bang for the buck" no pun intended. the best time to book is about two weeks before you leave. believe me you will find a great deal

  4. Carnival has the lowest prices and they do not take away the quality as the food is 5 star and the staff dose all they can to spoil you too.

Also the time of year to get the best prices is between Sept  - Dec, excluding holiday weeks. the weather is much nicer then too as it is very hot and humid in the summer.

and to get the best price go through Carnival Direct, we have an awesome Vacation Planner with them and he will keep ad eye on the booking for sales that may lower the price and more likely get upgrades to higher decks.

  5. A good travel agent will have access to last minute specials that are really hot deals.  I got one on the Royal Caribbean cruise line, booked the plane trip, transfers, etc. through a local travel agent.  The only thing I had to do was show up.  A lot of people try to book their own cruise online, only to find some "fee" was not included in the price listed online.  There are port charges and other hidden fees that will raise the total cost.  A travel agent will give you the bottom line figure for everything.  Especially if this is your first cruise, find a good travel agent and take it from there.  Happy sailing.....!!!!!

One thing to keep in mind:  Don't overpack.

  6. Carnival is the best for the money spent..

Find a good trip and have fun you may want to join a group

  7. Costa is the cheapest.....it is the Italian version of Carnival and is in the same group/family of cruiselines as Carnival...and they send two ships over to the U.S. for what is considered our high season which I believe is November til April. That is the cheapest cruise travel you can get as long as the timeframe of when there ships are here works! If not then I would have to say that Carnival is the next cheapest!

  8. There are several cruise lines that offer deals or low rates but beware of what you pay for. I would say the three cruise lines that offer the best deals are Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Norweign Cruise Line.

Like hotels and resorts, cruise lines have styles to their fleets. If you like flashy, neon and bright colors. Carnival Cruise Line falls into this catagory. They are considered the cruise line for the masses. Their entertainment is fair, the food is good, service is mediocre and their cabins are small. They go to the same place as the other cruise lines, so no real difference there. I always think of Las Vegas Flashy when I think of Carnival Cruises.

18 years as a travel agent and I would prefer to have my clients on Royal Caribbean or NCL. But there are people who LOVE Carnival and would never jump ships per se.

Royal Caribbean is more modern, less flashy and offers more adventure. They have putt putt golf, rock climbing, basketball court, ice skating rinks and FlowRider where you can boogie board or surf ON the ship! The cabins size are about the same or larger than Carnival, their food is very good, service is really good and their entertainement is often different and exciting. But even if you are looking for romance you will find it on a Royal Caribbean cruise,

NCL is eclectic. The ships are not set up as the rest and their dining is like at home - pick a favorite spot to what you are feeling to have at any given time such as Italian, burgers and Pizza or Sushi. Their dining is unique and more intimate than other cruise lines. All of NCL ships have these small boutique type resturants where Carnival and Royal Caribbean may have only one smaller resturant. Other cruise ships give you times when you can eat at what locations...NCL says you decide when you are hungry, then dine where you want.

Their food is really good and the dining service is excellent. The cabin stewards are very good and invisible unless you need them. There is allot to do on their ships, some even have bowling alleys or you can play a game on a Wii. The entertainment is very good, different from most others and they change their acts alot which is good if you become a repeat cruiser.

A good blog to read about 1st time cuisers looking for the best deal and how to chhose the right cruise for you is www.blog.travelladycruises.com
