What cultural interactions are there between Kiwis and Ausies? How have both the cultures been affected?

  1. There is little cultural 'interaction', the average Kiwi is still more British orientated but still embraces much of the indigenous [ Maori ] culture with Polynesian influence. Aussies are more U.S. influenced with some European input and pay little heed to their indigenous [ Aboriginal ] culture. There are still close common bonds between the two countries, but probably less than there was, say 50 yrs. ago when Australia had a stronger British-type identity.


  2. The Aussies and the Kiwi's have a big brother little brother relationship, there is a lot of rivalry and a lot of good natured bantered, generally both nations get on well, the rivalry is intense when the two nations meet in any sport especially Rugby. both countries went to war as the ANZAC'S. it may not always seem apparent but both countries have a lot of time for each other
