What currency does Canada use? the loon?

I am planning to visit the place were I was born but never have been to in my adult life , I do howver want to know what you guys use I think its still the canadian dollar but want to make sure this is something i have a wager on , and I think u guys still use the loon or canadian dollar but not sure

  1. Yes. It's the Canadian dollar. The loonie is the dollar coin. The two dollar coin is called a toonie.

    Have a wonderful time but you should know that to visit Canada is very expensive. The Canadian dollar is worth more than the American dollar.

    Take lots of loonies with you!!!!!!!!!!

    This what we call our change(coins)...

    $1.00 Loonie (because there is a loon on it)

    $2.00 Toonie (not sure why, maybe because it rimed with the loonie)

    The lune is a nick name for a coin whch has a bird on it, nick-named  'the looney' because of the strange mating calls the bird makes- i believe. I have seen these birds as they comunicate to each other, and they kinda sound a bit like bizaree, bit  of a 'woody-wood-p****r sound'
