  1. If you're taking USD, make sure not to change it at the airport.  When I went, they tried to give me $27 pesos to the Dollar, when the exchange rate was at $32 pesos to the Dollar.  Your best bet would be traveler's checks, any major credit/debit card, or your country's currency to be changed at a bank!

  2. Hi Sugarcan,

You must have some cash $us and take your credit card to take some money when you need it (distributors). In the Dominican Republic you can pay with us dollars or Pesos Dominicanos, both are accepted, but be cautious with the exchange rate's! Today it is $1us for 33,80 pesos. When buying tours/excursions you can pay in us$, but for other things I would suggest to pay in local currency. Also always

talk about the price before buying or using a service (taxi).

Anyway there are public transports who are cheaper than taxi's! I hope this helped.
