I like to use edible flowers,But you can also make some different shaped cubes.A party supply will have some and I have diamonds,spades hearts and clubs.

You can put some candies in them, like the heart shaped red hots, you can put lemon heads, gummy worms, etc

Use lemon and lime wedges cut small, so when it melts it flavors the drinks.

You can add marachino cherries, anything that you would add or put on the side of the glass of the drink, you can add to the ice cube.  Cherries, Lemons, Limes, candy, etc.

You can make jello shapes and put them in the ice trays, like hearts, stars, etc.

You can make ice out of the mixed drinks themselves, so when they melt, they don't dilute the drinks.  So if you have iced tea, make the ice out of that, etc.  If you're doing mixed drinks, the alcohol won't freeze as well, so you can use what's in the drink that's non alcoholic.

You can add juice shapes that are already frozen, freeze them separately, then put them in the water of the ice cube tray and freeze them with the ice and you'll have the froze shape within the shape.

You can do fruit pieces and wedges.

I would stick to thinks that are edible ONLY, you don't want your guests swallowing something and choking on something that's not edible because it melted and they didn't notice it in their drink and then took a swig of their drink and then it gets stuck in their throat.  If someone's in the middle of a conversation and doesn't realize that their ice cube melted and has something floating and then swallows it, they're in the ER or worse and it won't be good.  I would stick to edible things only and things that are bite size chunks that are NOT small!
