Question:

What cymbals to look for?

I have a drum set with no cymbals and I am going to go buy the cymbals for it. I like to play rock and metal. I like to beat on them very hard. My price range is very low, like under 200 dollars per cymbal so no fancy zildjian 300 dollar cymbals lol ;) What should I look for?

  1. Zildjian makes pretty decent "budget" cymbals as well. I recommed you look into the ZXT series, and the ZHT series cymbals. ZBT is cheaper, but you'll get a cheaper sound. ZXT and ZHT sound good for their price.

  2. look for quality and tone. look for hand hammered.

  3. im a drummer myself, and i too play rock & metal.and for cymbals,i dont know how you feel about online shopping, but maybe try ebay for good deals,or musiciansfriend.com for cymbals, maybe get paiste, meinl or some cymbals like that.as for the low cash thing, you should probably get one crash, one hi-hat,and one ride,or one crash and hi-hat if prices are high.almost any cymbal manufacuturer will do,but dont beat on them very hard because that can really damage your sticks too.

  4. Try some Paiste cymbals good quality and not terribly expensive.
