What date will the places in Olu Deniz this october start shutting down for end of season?

Question

Last time we went, it was in the October school half term, which was in mid-october, but the day before we left all the shops had shut..but some people were still arriving.

But this time, the school holidays are later - i think they start around the 20th or 25th of october or something, and we have to go then, but we're going for ten days so im wondering if the shops and bars will be shut whilst we are still there, or will they realise the holiday is later so keep it open to a later date?

i hope this makes sense lol...cause i dont wanna be there when everythings shut! thanks

Most things should be open till end of october, but i have also been there out of season in december to visit family & some places were open. I think it depends on the turkish owners themselves, for example if theres a turkish holiday they will close! when i went it was the festival of byram which lasted 4 days & most of the shops were shut or only open for a few hours. As your going in season you should be fine. i love olu deniz its one of my favourite places, hope you have a great holiday!

Well that is a good question, I live in Marmaris and everything will be open until the end of October;  saying that, some places do close earlier than others at the end of the season.

That part of the coast is usually open till the Turkish holiday on 29th October, I don't think they take notice of foreign holidays very much.

Until the end of October you are guaranteed at least some shops/bars/restaurants, after that the weather starts to change and the workers definitely need a day or two off.

If you plan on coming later, try further south - Antalya has a longer season.

All turkish sea-sides start to wind down from mid-october onwards. By mid- Nov everything is closed.
