  1. Well!, As you don't say where you are travelling from it just makes a tad difficult to answer!!

  2. Firstly, it doesn't start on friday. The gates open 8am wednesday, music starts on some stages thursday but there will be festival stuff going on from the moment people get there.

It depends on how you're planning to get there. If you're driving then just head west, look on the official site for directions but be prepared for it to take a LONG time due to the amount of traffic descending on the area. You're best off getting there at a stupid hour, say 3am or so, as the gates are open 24hrs from the wed. morning and that time would be easier and quicker (and it doesn't really stay dark for long at this time of year so getting your tent up will be no problem).

If you're getting a train then look into timetables for your station to Castle Cary (where there are free shuttle buses to the festival).

  3. Im guessing your going by car right? So you will need at least 6 hours + 4 ish for queues to drive from Brentwood. That's the m25 junction to the a 12 right? We were going to drive but now we are getting a coach a lot easier! We are coming from Ipswich, so a little further up the road. The gates open on Wednesday at exactly 9 any earlier and you will be turned away by police. You want to get there at least on early Thursday or light ish Wednesday to allow light for setting up a tent, past 10pm and it might be a little to dark. trust me i would use google maps route finder its always the best. Just type in the two postcodes, glasto one and yours calculate and it will give you a nice time i think its correct if you travel at 60. You can find the glasto postcode on the website just look at the getting there section.

  4. WWWOOOP! im leaving in 3 hours from the North so we get there at 8AM on wednesday morning when it opens!!! AAAA im so excited!!!!! I reckon the best day to get there is definately wednesday so you get a chance to look round a bit before it gets really busy. Also you get a better pick of spots to pitch your tent. Most of the good spots are full by thursday afternoon so its no good coming any later than this. Hope you have fun! see u there!!!! WOOOP xxxx

  5. I should be there about 8-9pm Wednesday, I think it will be busy then, it says on the website which is the best route to take for the best entrance, so I would check that out.  It's my first time too whooohooo!

  6. when i went last year the gates opened on the Wednesday before the weekend, and the wendesday and thursday it's just one big party meeting new people and having a laugh

if you go on the Friday alot of the good spots for pitching tents will be gone, and you will end up at the bottom of the hill near the stages and thats where it will flood if it rains like it usually does.

the best route? well it's hard to say, as you don't tell us where your coming from

if your like me, i came from Machester. I went to Bristol on the train, and then there are coaches that run from bristol to Glastonbury for about £5 (well that was the case last year anyway)

  7. Weds. Avoid the ques. chill out a few days and get to grips with the festival vibe.  You have paid so you may as well enjoy!
