What day does Michael Phelps plan on leaving Beijing? Is he going to stay until the closing ceremony?

I was just wondering if we were going to see more of him on the olympic coverage or is he heading home right away and not staying for anymore of the olympics?

According to interviews I've seen, and his Facebook fan site updates, he left Beijing for Baltimore yesterday (Wednesday). He'll be in Baltimore until the closing ceramonies in Beijing, I think, and then he has to go to London for a publicity thing. And then back to Baltimore, I guess.

dont worry there will be a gazillion interviews for the rest of the olympics. i have no idea what day he's leaving... my guess would be that he's probably staying till the end. why not?

They had an interview earlier, sounded like he was heading back to Baltimore almost right away, and his mother is going back to work in a couple days. I'm sure he'll be making the rounds on talk shows and news programs

I think his mom and sisters are leaving today (Wednesday) or Thursday there in China but he should be staying until the closing ceremony. I mean the boy just made great Olympic history I don't know why he would want to lose all of that air time.

*Packs her bags for Baltimore* I want to sleep in his bed too! (Sorry, couldn't resist lol)  Seriously though, I'm really shocked that he's leaving so early. I figured he'd stay, enjoy some some of the events and the sites (Since he had to focus on swimming all last week) and do interviews. But I guess not. Sad for us!

Did you hear the news quoting that he couldn't wait to sleep on his own bed?  Since his competition is done, my feeling is that he will go home right away.

his mom is the one who is leaving either today or tomm to go back to her job as a priceble. he will stay for a while so nobody will forget his name. looks like the first place he will go to when he gets backs home is the ravens games to be on tv
