There are printed calendars, too.  They can be quite useful.  There is usually one in the phone book.

If you have an almanac there is probably one in there, too.

Or just draw a little calendar on a sheet of paper.

Working backwards:

This is not so hard you can't do in your head.

Or: 4 weeks = 28 days

Aug 13 - 28 days = 15 days before start of August.

July 31 is the day corresponding to "August 0".

31 - 15 = 16.  July 16 is the date.

You don't need a calendar if you know that there are 31 days in jul. If we let 1jul = 1, 2jul = 2, etc, we have 31jul = 31, 1aug=32, etc and so 13aug=31+13=44.

4 wk prior to 13aug = 44-28=16. Hence it's 16jul.

it is july 16th but to work the calender on a mac you go to applications and go to ical. Then you should be able to click on the days and to count weeks prior just press back a month. Or on dashboard there should be a calender there also.
