What day should I start my Opk on? Approx. 40 day cycle!

Question

I am ttc and I have pcos and have been on Metformin for over 3 months and on b/c pills to regulate my cycle. This past month on my own after coming off the pills I did have my period. It was approx. 40 days from start of last period. So my question is on what day this cycle should I start my opk? I am also charting bbt. On the Bbt thing how will I know O is occurring? Thanks!

You typically ovulate 14 days before your next period. Just to be sure I would start on CD 20.
