  2. It starts at 2.30pm from Waverley Bridge, Sunday, 3rd August 2008.

  3. To Launch the start of the Festival Fringe a large cavalcade of floats and performers on foot parade past crowds from Waverley Bridge, along Princes Street up Lothian Road into Castle Terrace where it ends at the foot of Johnstone Terrace. The performers advertise and some give the audience a slight taste of their shows.

the 32nd annual Cavalcade 2008 will take place on Sunday 3 August 2008.  The Cavalcade will leave Waverley Bridge at 2.30pm. For a decent view you need to be fairly early on Princes St but last year it thinned out after that. The first performers will arrive at Lothian Road for example around 3pm. You can see from various spots around there if you don't fancy the crush on the busiest Street.

Last year a lot of people were unimpressed at the regular significant gaps that have been introduced for Health and Safety reasons, the parade passes you for well over an hour now!!

You will see eveything from floats of local high school shows, through to the big productions and other things such as the Ladyboys of Bangkok. Also lots of street dancers, entertainers and an awful lot of music from dozens of types of musiciand from Ragtime to Scottish marching bands.
