  1. I don't think there was ever a specific traditional day.

    Remember- embalming has only been around for about 140 years (and even then only for the wealthy), so it was necessary to bury the dead quickly, usually within a day or two of death. They would not have waited for a specific day.


  2. It varies by country and culture - here in Canada when someone dies, the funeral tends to be about three days later, but in England after my father's death, the funeral was 7 days later.

    I don't think there is a specific day or number of days between the death and the funeral.

  3. Any day except for Sunday, holy days, and holidays.
