What default programs on windows xp can be deleted that aren't necessarily needed. ?

XP comes with a few programs you might not need - Paint, Solitaire, etc. But it also comes with a few hundred modem drivers you absolutely do not need. Fine tuning the list is a quick route to disaster. Leave well enough alone.

As for any programs your vendor added, especially trials and demos, dump them all.

One exception, if you have such, is the program to create a reinstall disc. Use that one first.
