  1. With regard to expected norms of social conduct, I would argue multi-culturalism (even if the persistence of certain cultures overtakes the desire to explore cultures outside of the sphere of the "old American melting pot"), creativity and ingenuity, extreme individuality, and even more extreme naivety.

With regard to American political culture, I would argue oligarchic representative democracy.

With regard to culinary culture, I would argue "fusion", fried, and meat based.

I would also throw in a distrust of successful or wealthy people, a distrust of impoverished people, and a general inclination toward conspicuous consumption.  The three of which make absolutely no sense together, in that the latter causes the second and is an indicator of the first.

In many ways, as in the movie "Idiocracy", I think there is a general trend toward accepting ignorant machismo over well-reasoned, civil behavior.

  2. Affluence. One-upmanship. Waste. Apathy. Ignorance. Pride.

  3. materials, low self esteem, not able to think for our selves, crappy fast food, ignorance, low education, media.

  4. Jack Daniels  McDonalds and Blowing everything else up

  5. MONEY, SUCCESS, LOOKS

  6. individualism, optimism, ignorance about other cultures

  7. Willful ignorance and obesity (bringing disease)

  8. Cheeseburgers.

    Greasy, common, cheap, unhealthy cheeseburgers.

  9. Obesity. Ignorance. Stuck-up patriotism. Quest for global dominance.
