  1. 12/10 pitch means 12" of rise for every 10" of run.  The pitch is usually stated in terms of amount of rise for every 12" of run, so you probably mean a 10/12 pitch, 10" of rise in 12" run.  In this case (10/12 pitch) the angle of the roof is 39.81 degrees.  This is commonly stated as 40 degrees, which is close enough for most purposes.

Now, in case you really do mean a 12/10 pitch:

The proper nomenclature would be 14 3/8 / 12 pitch.  14 3/8" rise for 12" of run.  This would be a 50.19 degree angle, 50 degrees would be close enough for most purposes.

  2.   40 degrees.  you can find corresponding degrees to pitches on a speed square.

  3. we use the term pitch as related to inch rise per foot. So your  # 12/10 would be taken to mean a rise of 10 inches per foot.

    Usually a Roofer would say ''a 10 in 12''

Trades dont use degrees---we work with a ruler and a square and a level.

But its easy enough for you to figure out.
