What degree would you need for A weapons contracter for the government?

Okay, well i'm almost out of highschool and was thinking about becoming a weapons designer for the department of defense. Anyone know or have experience with this kind of field if so please give me some ideas of what its like or what degrees i would need.

  1. Well you need to get a job working at a company that has contracts for the military already or work for a major manufacting firm.  Smith and Wessin, Colt, Ruger, Gloc, Browning and companies like that are always designing new guns.  However some contracts through other companies that design larger scale weapons you will need degrees in mechanical engineering or related field to work for them.  Or join the military and use the weapons, then get out after a while and work for them to tell them how they could be improved.


  2. An Engineering Degree.

    Then get a job with the right defense contractor.

    Which degree, depends on which type of weapons you want to work on.
