  1. it depends on which country you are at..take an AB psychology..you will probably have like 4 years..good luck!!

  2. http://home.earthlink.net/~carolbeth/pag...

  3. Simply a degree is psychology will work. You will probably want to get a master's degree to earn good money being a psychologist or a psychiatrist. To be a psychiatrist you will have to get a doctrate and go through some medical school. Good luck, hope this helps! It will be about 9 years of education after high school.

  4. Psychiatrist take care of people like  mad people . change the mind of people  etc

  5. Psychologist= +2, BA, MA, Ph.D in psychology

Psychiatrist =  +2, MB BS in Psychiatry

  6. Psychiatrist = Medical Degree, going to medical school (like a regular physician) and then specializing in psychiatry. More specialized in medication and often don't do therapy.

Psychologist = do therapy, work in schools, work in prisons, hospitals, work with kids or adults. Do NOT prescribe medications (at least not yet, there is legislation ongoing about this).

There are many ways to become a Psychologist. It depends what you want to do when you are done. If you just want to do therapy you could get an MA in Psychology, counseling, social work, education, etc... Then there is a PsyD which is a "doctorate of psychology" which allows you to do therapy independently. Finally there is a PhD which is a "doctorate of philosophy" in psychology. This is what most psychologists are (although PsyD's are becoming more and more popular). These folks can become professors, do research, and do everything a PsyD can do. PhD programs are generally more competitive to get into than PsyD programs but also require more work (like doing several research projects, collecting data for your advising professor, teaching undergraduate classes). But you can usually only get assistantships (the university pays you to be a teaching assistant or graduate assistant researcher, etc..) in PhD programs (but there are some exceptions)

MA - 2 years post BA

MSW - 2-3 years post BA

PsyD - 4-6 years post BA

PhD - 5-7 years post BA
